LACNIC (The Latin American and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry) will hold its second annual meeting of 2024 - (LACNIC 42) from October 7 to 11, featuring a robust slate of programming in Asunción, Paraguay.
The event, which will also be streamed live, promotes education and innovation within the region’s Internet resource management community and provides a forum for ideas and expertise. It will also serve as a vital networking opportunity for attendees to connect with like-minded professionals throughout the region while building toward a better, more secure future.
Educational Programming

The meeting also features other valuable training tutorials, Q&A sessions, and technical workshops, including:
- An overview of new trends in secure routing, including keys to enhancing Internet routing security.
- Tips for running network automation with Python.
- Guidance for operating an IPv6-only network in the absence of IPv4.
- Opportunities to learn about tools and services, such as using RIPE Atlas to monitor and troubleshoot your network.
- An in-person-only session discussing Internet operation topics facing Paraguay.
As part of the LACNIC 42 event, the FIRST Conference will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, October 9-10. These symposia provide a forum to discuss vulnerabilities, incidents, tools, and other critical issues that impact the operation of incident response and security teams.
